Swallow them whole. What is Cardizem? • Cardizem is in a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. Cardizem relaxes (widens) your blood vessels (veins and arteries) which makes it easier for your heart to pump and reduces the workload on it. • Cardizem is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) to treat angina (chest pain) and to slow unusually fast heartbeats. • Cardizem may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
